Background

Joseph and Sheree Conti, Directors of Brisbane City Cranes, established the company in 2010. Joe’s background in construction prompted the purchase of their first crane, a 16t Kobelco City Crane, to assist in their own projects. Joe’s connections in the construction industry quickly created opportunities to expand the fleet in 2013, with the addition of a 45t Liebherr City Crane.

Over the last 16 years, the fleet has expanded from one crane to 11, ranging from a 20t City, up to a 150t All Terrain Crane. The growth of the business has been the direct result of providing quality people and equipment and having competent operators & riggers passionate about the industry and the service they provide.
Our growth is also attributed to the relationships with our loyal and diverse client base.

General Manager

Billy Sasalu started in the crane and construction industry in 2007, where he worked for Laing O’Rourke as a Rigging Trade Assistant, working his way up to an open crane operator. Billy first joined Brisbane City Cranes in 2013 as a dogman and then worked as a crane operator.
He left after a few years to expand his experience with larger cranes, up to 350t capacity. In 2019, he returned as an Operations Manager and is now the General Manager.
In this role, he is key to ensuring that Brisbane City Cranes delivers quality, safe and efficient services to its clients, through the recruitment and retention of experienced key personnel.
Billy provides specialist advice to clients regarding crane requirements and oversees the entire operations of the company.
